Daily Camp Activities
Travel the world with us this summer as we embark on an international sight-seeing tour! Visit a new country each week, celebrate their holidays, explore their culture, and discover fun facts while developing an original performance and learning theatre basics.
Camp hours are 9:00am to 4:00pm; Pre-School Morning Camps are 9:00am to 12:00pm.

Before & After Care is available 8am-9am & 4pm-6pm.

Campers spend each day with their teacher, learning concepts and exploring techniques in theatre, music, magic, dance, visual art, or other focus area while preparing for their end of the week performance.

A “Fun Time” class is included each day: fun activities in art, music, stage combat, improvisation, movement, puppetry, crafts, indoor and outdoor games, and much more!

Enjoy the best sack-lunch hour around with after lunch entertainment like Highland Games on the Lawn, Movie Madness, Circus Maximus Carnival Games, Open Mic, Improv Olympics, Limbo, Story Circles, Ice Cream Socials, and more.

Every Monday we’ll celebrate a different holiday from the theme country, like Australia Day and Chinese New Year.

Every Friday is pizza day! $5.00 per child includes all you can eat pizza, fruit, cookies, and juice.

Camp store is available for purchasing snacks & drinks.

All one-week camps give a Friday performance in The Burg Theatre.

Each camper receives a cool Summer Camp T-shirt at the end of their first week of camp.

Extended Stay Before / After Care
Camp hours are 9am-4pm. Before/After Care is available from 8-9am and 4-6pm. This service is an additional $10 per day or $45 per week. After Care is available Monday through Thursday only, due to Friday performances.

Enrollment Discounts
Several 10% discounts are available. Discounts cannot be combined.

FREQUENT CAMPER DISCOUNT: Enroll the same child in five camps and receive 50% off the sixth camp
OCU DISCOUNT: 20% off each enrollment for OCU faculty, staff & students

Cancellation / Refund Policies

Pre-enrollment and full payment is required in order to ensure a spot in camp. A refund (minus a $10 processing fee) will be issued if the student drops the camp three working days prior to the first day of camp. A full refund will only be issued if the camp is cancelled by Oklahoma Children’s Theatre. Camps will not be prorated and no other refunds or tuition transfers will apply or be offered. No refunds are available on Before and After Care. If you are ineligible for a refund, you may obtain an acknowledgement from the Education Director, which enables you to claim unused tuition as a tax-deductible contribution. All camps have a minimum and maximum student enrollment. Oklahoma Children’s Theatre reserves the right to substitute instructors if necessary.

This summer Oklahoma Children’s Theatre is your passport to amazing getaways around the globe -- journey with us to a new country each week by creating, exploring, imagining, and acting! World Wanderers in our 1-Week theatre camps will explore theatre basics and discover the culture of international countries through fun, hands-on theatre games and activities. 1-Week travelers will hit the road by developing characters and scripts, then take the “scenic” route by developing their own props and costumes. Lots of laughs and creativity are the ticket while travelers prepare for an exciting Friday performance for family and friends.

Tiny Travelers Creative Drama

Our youngest globetrotters will fly like planes and drive cars, trucks and trains as they race around the world to visit the animals! Kids will sing and dance, pretend and create, wiggle and giggle while working together to invent a Friday mini-performance for family and friends. All participants must be potty trained in order to attend camp.

Magic

Wow and dazzle all of your friends by learning tricks from the professionals: captivating card tricks, chopping off fingers, reading minds, disappearing act’s and other feats of amazement! At the end of the week you can call yourself a true magician and show off your tricks in a one of a kind magical performance.

“Magical Traveling Show”
June 23-27
All Ages
$150

Magicians of all ages can hop on board the Abracadabra Caravan as we spend this week of camp preparing for an old-time traveling medicine show. Young magicians will learn new tricks like slight of hand, coin and card tricks, and disappearing acts, and combine them with the performance flair of a vaudeville variety show using comedy, acting, music and juggling to create a Friday performance like never before!

Dance

In June, dance campers will move and groove with fun movement games while trying out the traditional dances of Scotland, Ireland, and Renaissance dances of Old England. In July, campers will explore the exciting dances of Mexico and Africa. All dancers will take their show on the road by presenting a Friday performance.

Art of the World

Art Adventurers will create fun craft projects and one-of-a-kind works of art as they discover the visual arts found in international theatre styles, like puppetry and mask making. Through hands-on activities campers will explore the traditional art forms of Australia, China, and France, and best of all can use their creations in a Friday performance.

Circus Arts
August 11-15
Circus Arts I: 5-7 yrs … Circus Arts II: 8-12 yrs

Clowning, mime, commedia and juggling put this camp on the road to hilarity and amazement! Adventure into the Circus Maximus, learn tricks and techniques from the pros, and develop a spectacular show for the Friday performance.

Music Videos
July 28-August 1
Music Production II: 8-12 yrs
$150

On this unique adventure, travelers will create their own music video! Campers will also use the latest computer software to create their own international super hits! At the Friday performance, Music Production campers can invite family and friends to an advanced screening of their creations.

Musical Theatre
June 23-27
Musical Theatre I: 5-7 yrs … Musical Theatre II: 8-12 yrs

The hills are alive! On this trip to Germany and Switzerland, campers will learn and rehearse numbers from The Sound of Music, and swing and move to German polka. For the Friday performance, entertainers will delight the audience with a showcase of their numbers.

Adventures In Your Own Backyard
One day camps are fun-filled single-day experiences. A perfect sampler for curious kids, and a great excursion for our frequent fliers. Backyard Adventures will include theatre games, improvisation, arts and crafts, and other fun activities. Enroll in one, two, or three day camps for $40 per day, or register for the whole travel package for just $140.

3 Week Camps


3-Week Performance Adventure: “Jungle Book”
June 2-20 … 8 & Up … $400
Performances: June 18-20, 10:00am and 12:00pm, June 21-22, 2:00pm

This performance camp will journey to the jungle of India, where Mogli, a young boy separated from his parents, makes friends (and enemies) with the menagerie of jungle animals there. With music, singing, dance, and acting, campers will get the full production experience as they produce this unique event that includes friendly bears, surly elephants, sneaky snakes, mischievous monkeys, even a few humans, and a lot more! 3 Week camps enjoy a sizeable run of performances.

3-Week Performance Holiday: “Robin Hood”
July 28-August 15 … 8 & Up … $400
Performances: August 6-8, 10:00am and 12:00pm, August 9-10, 2:00pm

King John has a tax on everything! A Capture Tax, a Road Tax, a Bread Tax, a Cheese Tax even a Thumb Tax are collected by King John’s henchman, the Sheriff of Nottingham. Everything is given to the greedy King John, who sits around all day counting his gold while sucking his thumb. Their only mistake was trying to collect in Sherwood Forest, the home of Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men. Things are about to change in Nottingham.

3-Week Camp Auditions
Saturday, April 19 … 10am–12pm

Auditions are held on a first come, first serve basis and will be held at Oklahoma Children’s Theatre in the OCU Children’s Center for the Arts on the Oklahoma City University campus. Those auditioning must be prepared to perform a memorized monologue, poem or story, no longer than 2 minutes. There is a possibility of callbacks.
