2018 Summer Camp Descriptions

A Kid’s Guide to Surviving

Pull out your compass and lead your way to survival in this scout themed camp. Students will learn wilderness basics and survival techniques right here in the city with a range of wacky and fun activities and games, as well as crafting a campfire-themed skit show for their friends and family to enjoy at our end of session performance.

A Time Traveler’s Adventure

Climb into the time machine and blast off for an adventure through the ages. In this themed theatre-based class students will expand their imaginations as they participate in a collection of themed games and activities while creating an original theatre performance for friends and families to enjoy at our end of session performance.
 

Another Dimension: Sculpture and 3D Art


Transport your mind to another dimension! Our Sculpture and 3D Art class is an exploration of the visual arts in the three-dimensional form. Students will explore art creation utilizing various traditional and non-traditional mediums as they learn the intricacies of turning two-dimensional ideas into three-dimensional works of art. Their final pieces will be displayed for the public at their end of week gallery showing.
 

App Camp


Join us for an incredible learning experience as we introduce students to the basics of coding for mobile devices. Working alongside an expert instructor, students in this class will learn through hands-on projects and challenges that enhance their knowledge and understanding of app design as they create practical and exciting projects. They’ll then present their work at an end of session demonstration for friends and family.

Students will need to bring their own iOS or Android-based smartphone each day.

Art Attack! Art for Kids


With a curriculum specially designed for our younger students, this introductory art and design based class will provide countless opportunities for students to be introduced to different artistic mediums. Under the instruction of our professional visual artists, students will draw, paint, and create their way to a fantastic end of session gallery showcase for friends and family.

Art Attack! Mixed Media Designs


Stretch your creative muscles through the world of mixed media, where students will experience rich opportunities to conceptualize and create using a range of traditional and non-traditional materials. Students will work alongside our professional artists as they learn about different 2D and 3D art styles through a series of hands-on workshops while creating their own art pieces for a special end of session gallery showcase.

Back to the Future! A Time Travelling Adventure

Climb into the DeLorean and zap into the future. In this themed theatre-based class students will expand their imaginations as they participate in a collection of themed games and activities while creating an original theatre performance for friends and families to enjoy at our end of session performance.

Broadway Jr.

Break into song and dance and explore the wonderful world of musical theatre! Suitable for both boys and girls, students work with their instructors on voice development, singing, choreography and of course a whole range of important theatre and acting skills to develop a performance for their friends and family. Perfect for beginners and experts alike, our instructors skillfully identify each child’s unique talents to ensure a positive performing experience.

Captain Underpants Summer School Edition

Join George and Harold as we embark on a week-long journey filled with many underwear adventures! Campers will hypnotize Mr. Krupp and turn him into the one and only Captain Underpants! Help him save the world by experimenting with snot slime, making superhero capes, building toilet paper towers, and much more! Students will also create an exciting theatrical performance for friends and family based on their underwear adventures.
 

Cheer Camp

Give me a C! Give me an H! Give me an E E R! Give your child an awesome week at camp as we explore the fun of cheerleading. Students will work with our expert instructors as they learn new cheers, perform age-appropriate stunts, improve their techniques, and build a repertoire of moves and formations. The class will conclude with a pep rally for friends and family at the end of session performance. A perfect option for beginning and experienced cheer participants alike.

Creative Journaling for Kids


Join us for this exciting mixed media approach to journaling. Throughout the session, young artists will explore a variety of materials and techniques while focusing on visual storytelling, as they transform a blank notebook into their own unique art portfolio and storybook. This class will teach cut paper technique, pattern-making, collage, and narrative nonfiction while exercising small motor skills and bridging the creative disciplines of the visual and language arts. At the end of the session friends and family will be invited to explore every student’s storybook journal at an end of session gallery showcase.

Dance

Put on your dancing shoes and join us in this exciting introductory skill class. Suitable for boys and girls alike, students will work hard as they learn the fundamentals of movement and rhythm, working together to choreograph a performance to dazzle friends and family at our end of session performance. Great for students of all skill-levels and experience, our experienced instructors work hard to emphasize each student’s individual talents, bringing out quality performances while adding to their love of dance.

Favorite Fairytales…with Zombies

All of your favorite fairy tale friends are back, ready to share their classic tales…with a twist! These hilarious horror-themed camps are perfect for children looking for something different. Working hard with their instructors they’ll adapt a fairy tale with a terrorizing surprise and bring it onstage during our end of session showcase for the audience's delight!

Film Making


Watch out Hollywood! Students in this intensive class will work with our film professionals each day as they develop, write, rehearse, star in, and edit an original short film. Their cinematic blockbuster will premiere for their friends and family at a special film preview at the end of the session. A great option for those that love to be both on and off camera alike!

Foundations of Art

Designed to help young artists find their own creative voice, our Foundations of Art class is a fun and unique opportunity for budding young artists to develop their artistic arsenal. Throughout this class, students will learn foundational skills of drawing, painting, sculpture, and other artistic mediums through a series of age and skill appropriate hands-on workshops. This class will explore the power of visual interpretation in art – encouraging students to find a method of creating art and looking at art that evokes a personal connection. Friends and families are invited to a final gallery viewing of student work at the end of the session.
 

Guardians of the Galaxy: Rockin’ the Universe

Climb aboard alongside the other Guardians of the Galaxy as we party our way through space, defeating the enemies of the universe! This rock and roll superhero class will see our students spend their days working on creative games and activities inspired by the hit movie series, as well as developing an original theatre performance of epic proportions for the end of week recital.
 

Hip Hop Dance Camp

Under the direction of our expert instructors, this exciting dance camp will focus on building your child’s Hip Hop techniques, choreographic capabilities, and performance qualities as they work alongside their fellow dancers to choreography a Hip Hop dance routine to selected music. Our instructors work hard to emphasize each student’s individual talents, regardless of experience level.

How To Be An Elf

Christmas is coming early with this exciting themed class. Enter Santa’s workshop and learn the intricacies of being an elf as we explore the festive season through a range of themed games and activities, as well as completing special challenges from the big man himself. Young elves will also create a unique skit styled performance for friends and family to enjoy at our end of session showcase.

As a bonus treat, students will be invited to a special showing of our summer production Elf the Musical Jr.
 

How to Train Your Dragon

Inspired by the hit movie series this exciting class takes students on the journey of a lifetime as they become expert dragon trainers. Working with our experienced staff they’ll develop all the fighting and flying techniques needed to conquer those fire-breathing beasts through a series of stage combat themed lessons. They’ll be sure to impress with their new found skills during their end of session performance for family and friends.

Improv

Leave the scripts at home and join us as our expert improvisers teach the skills of quick-thinking comedy in a fun and supportive environment. While best known for its power to amaze and entertain, improvisation develops a deep understanding of theatre knowledge, acting skills, and characterization, founded on a creative process of support and trust. Our student troupe will delight audiences at their end of session performance with an unscripted demonstration of their finely tuned skills.

Jedi Training Academy

Join the academy as we fight evil and uphold the moral codes of these ancient heroes! Each day students will race across the galaxy, defeating evil through a range of exciting themed activities and games. In addition, they’ll also develop important theatre skills as they prepare a unique skit-styled performance for their friends and family at our end of session showcase.

Lego: Build, Wreck, Repeat.

Spend time with a childhood classic, as we fill our days building imagined creations. Each day students will learn basic building techniques that will stimulate creativity and imagination while encouraging problem-solving and teamwork. Friends and family will be invited to experience the creations first hand at the end of the class in a gallery styled viewing of their works.

Lights… Camera… Action Movie Star!

Join us for this special action movie star experience! Young superstars will be working alongside our professional instructors as they learn the ins and outs of being an action movie star. From dealing with adoring fans to learning the Hollywood ways of jumping, punching, and avoiding doom, students will love the opportunity to explore their creativity in a safe and controlled environment. They'll then delight the awaiting public as they present their week's work in an action-packed short film.
 

Mad Scientist

Creep into our laboratory as we start our adventure exploring the awesome world of science! Join us for special experiments as we take a hands-on interactive approach to learning, where students will learn by doing in a range of exciting experiments, activities, and games. Young scientists will then conclude their week with a special science demonstration for friends and family at our end of session showcase.

Magic

Entertain and amaze your friends with feats of mystifying illusion! Combining the art of magic with the skills of performing, students will be busy each day as they learn the secrets behind phenomenal slights of hand and illusions, while also creating an exciting demonstration of magic and theatre for their end of session performance. In addition to amazing a crowd, each student also receives a collection of tricks learned throughout the week to take home.

Magical Beasts and Where to Find Them

Come and join as we walk into the enchanted forest and find the magical creatures of the wizarding world. With a range of games and activities, kids will love the exploration of the wacky, wild, and weird characters brought to life in the classic children’s series- with special animal guests making appearances all week! Students will further delight audiences as they bring to the stage their own original magical beast theatre performance.

Marvel Universe: Superheroes of Space

Join forces with the other members of your superhero squad and battle the bad guys in this action-packed superhero summer camp. Young heroes will spend the week using their imagination as they develop their own superhero characters and secret crime-fighting superpowers, and accept missions of fun and excitement as they participate in a range of themed games and activities. They'll then develop their own super performance where friends and family can marvel at the abilities of their secret identities.
 

Mine, Craft, Code

Come explore vast landscapes of mountains, forests, caves, and castles through the incredible world of Minecraft. This exciting class builds on the game’s ability to promote creative thinking and problem-solving skills as students explore limitless options of creating and discovering. Students will spend their day enjoying educational Minecraft games, activities, and challenges, while also learning basic computer coding. Friends and family will be invited to explore their work in an arcade and gallery style viewing on the final afternoon.

Phone-ography: Art of the Selfie


Grab your selfie stick and head out with us as we embrace the art of photography using only our cell phones. Develop a deeper understanding of photography fundamentals including composition, lighting, editing, and other important picture-taking techniques, as we learn to compose interesting images using only our smartphones. Prints of the classes work will then be displayed in a gallery showing at the end of the week.

Students will need to bring their own smartphone each day.

Photography 101


A combination of art and science this exciting new class will welcome students into the world of film photography. Under expert instruction, students will learn the science behind light, film, and exposure and combine this knowledge with composition as they take photographic works of art. Their final images will be displayed in a special gallery viewing for friends and family at the end of the session.

Pirates v Ninjas

Arrr! Back by popular demand, your child will love joining this hilarious themed class. Choose your favorite side and jump aboard a week of awesome games and activities. Learning the correct way to make someone walk a plank, get the hot tips for silent sneaking, and learn how to plunder properly! Students will also receive exciting lessons in stage combat working alongside our trained instructors. At the end of the class, they’ll be ready to demonstrate their new skills for the friends and family in an exciting skit-styled performance.

Poetry & Prose: Intro to Shakespeare

Join us for a week of Shakespeare with this intensive class designed to immerse young actors in the works of William Shakespeare. Young thespians will discover techniques that bring Bard’s words to life. Students will actively participate in a mix of sonnets, monologues, and scenes selected to highlight the wide range of possibilities within Shakespeare’s work. The session will culminate with a performance that will demonstrate an increased understanding of these classical texts.

Pom Summer Camp

Give me a C! Give me an A! Give me an M! Give me a P! Give your child an awesome week at camp as we explore the fun of pom. Students will work with our expert instructors as they learn new routines, improve their techniques, and build a repertoire of team spirit dance moves. The class will conclude with a pep rally for friends and family at the end of session performance. Great for beginning and experienced pom participants alike.

Pre-School Half Day Camps

Our Pre-School half-day programs are the perfect introduction to the performing arts for your 3-4-year-old child, where our youngest students get to wiggle and giggle through an engaging range of age-appropriate activities, games, and crafts while learning to work together as they make a mini performance for their friends and families. Pre-School classes run Monday-Friday, from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm and concludes with a performance at the end of the last class.

Princess Leia’s Training Academy

Join us for a week of royal treatment as we explore the exciting world of Princesses through this Star Wars themed class. Young princesses will enjoy games and activities designed to build self-confidence, explore inner strength, and develop important leadership skills. In addition, they’ll also learn theatre techniques as they prepare a unique skit-styled performance for their friends and family at our end of session showcase.

Printmaking


There are more ways to work with ink on paper than with a simple paintbrush or pen. Our printmaking class is an exploration of the traditional processes of block and screen printing. Students will learn the theories and techniques of printmaking and from development to conceptualization they will see their own ideas come to life through this hands-on multistage art process. Friends and family will be welcomed to view the student's
 

Puppetry

Our puppetry class is a unique experience for creative minds. Working alongside our experienced teachers, students will not only explore the history and styles of puppetry, but will spend their days designing and creating their own elaborate sock puppet friends to take home, but not before demonstrating their puppeteering skills during an end of session performance for friends and family.

Rock Band

Calling all rock stars, the summer tour is about to depart! This loud and exciting class welcomes young rock stars of all abilities to join in an environment of sight and sound. Our students spend their days learning the moves and music of rock stars alongside our talented musician instructors with a range of themed games and activities. Friends and family are invited to enjoy our final skit-styled performance and rock demonstration at the end of session showcase.

Scary Stories to Tell in Dark

Come around the campfire and help us bring to life these classic scary stories to life. Participants in this class will learn twisted tales while developing important performing and theatre skills. The week will end with an exciting skit-styled performance for friends and family at our end of session showcase. 
 

Secret Agent Summer Camp

Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to have an amazing week of secret spy training with our Secret Agent Summer Camp. Exciting games and activities await from code breaking to undercover surveillance to the ins and outs of espionage and this camp will cover it all. Young spies will then demonstrate their secret spy training with an exciting end of session performance for friends and families.

Sketch Comedy

Made famous by shows such as ‘Saturday Night Live’, this exciting camp explores the hilarious world of improvisation and sketch comedy. Designed for our older students this class builds on the fundamentals of improv as it brings the skills of play, creative thinking, team building, and of course fun into a more refined environment. Students will work alongside our experienced staff using improv to develop scenes before turning their work into developed sketches, ready to be performed for friends and family at the end of session performance.

Speech and Debate

With a curriculum designed especially for our older students, this class hosts a series of intensive workshops, games, and activities that assist students in getting familiar with drama and debate events found in the school environment. Led by Oklahoman high school teachers and collegiate debate champs, students will have expert advice and guidance as they learn debate structures and techniques, and refine their skills in competitive speaking and debate events. The session will conclude with a speech and debate tournament for friends and family.

Stop-Motion Animation


Animation is not only fun to watch, its fun to make! In this exciting new class, we’ll pull back the curtain and reveal how stop-motion movie magic is made. Working in groups, students will imagine their own stop-motion creations by developing stories, building props and characters, animating them, and watching them come to life, before showing their work to friends and families at a special end of session premiere.

Storybook Circus

Step right up and enter the big top as we take our young students on an exciting adventure of the circus. Each day we will work on exciting themed activities and games, while also building on important performance skills in preparation for our final performance. 

The Art of Cartooning


Brush up on your cartooning skills, learn some new ones, or discover the world of cartooning for the first time ever. Lead by professional illustrators, this class is a creative balance between cartooning, illustrating, and creative art and design projects that are designed to develop the skills of conceptualization and visual story-telling. Great for beginning and experienced artists alike!

The Incredible's Great Adventure

Inspired by the hit Pixar movies, young campers will love this superhero-themed camp. With the Incredibles banned from using their superpowers in the city of Metroville and the supervillain Syndrome now on the loose, it’s up to our campers to help find Syndrome, stop his evil plans, and save the world. Throughout the week campers will work as a crackpot team of detectives as they locate Syndrome through a series of themed games and activities, stop his evil plans, and save the world. They’ll then dazzle friends and family with a recreation of their daring mission at our end of session performance.

Theatre

Join us center stage as we explore the magic of the theatre. Students will brush up on their theatre skills through age-appropriate hands-on games and activities. Working alongside with their dedicated instructors they’ll learn terminology, build acting skills, and increase their self-confidence as they create characters and develop an original story to bring to life for a performance for family and friends.

Video Game Design

Immerse yourself in the world of video games! In this unique class, students will work with design professionals alongside the latest computer software to create their own smash-hit video game. Designed to develop creative and critical thinking skills, these classes provide an exciting hands-on look at the world inside the screen. Parents and friends are invited to join the class at the end of the week for an arcade-style demonstration of their creations.

Wasteland! Art of the Repurposed, Recycled and Reclaimed


Using contemporary artists as inspirations, this unique class teaches the process of turning found and recycled objects into extraordinary works of mobile magic. This class pushes creative thinking, encourages the examination of waste, and allows for unique creative expression in a safe environment. Students will spend the week building individual 8’ long hanging masterpieces which will be displayed for friends and families at the end of session showcase.

Wild West Variety Show

Dust off those cowboy boots and mosey on over to our old time Wild West Variety Show. Students will work hard wrangling up the greatest comedy ideas of yester-year to present on stage during their very own Variety Show presented live at our end of class performance!

Wonder Woman Academy

Girl power is back with this exciting camp based on the hit superhero character. Young warriors will enjoy games and activities designed to build self-confidence, explore inner strength, and develop important leadership skills. In addition, they’ll also learn theatre techniques as they prepare a unique skit-styled performance for their friends and family at our end of session showcase.

Young Directors

Step off stage and explore the challenging art of directing. Students will work alongside our theatre pros as they learn the skills needed to be a master director. This exciting class will give students opportunities to build leadership skills, self-confidence as well as allow them to explore their creativity in a safe and encouraging environment. The class will finish with a student-directed recital for friends and family.

Young Filmmakers

Watch out Hollywood! Developed especially for our younger campers, our Young Filmmakers class will see budding stars work with film professionals each day as they create characters, write a story, and film and star in their very own original short film which will be presented to their friends and family in a special film premiere. A great option for those that love to be both on and off camera alike!
