Young Company

Student Productions

Come on stage with our student production program! Each year we present multiple opportunities for student actors to participate in fully-realized theatre productions and intensive masterclasses. These allow our students to get practical performing experience.

Our Young Company will experience:
  • the full scope of a production from start to finish
  • a staff of professional teaching artists, eager to share their knowledge
  • welcoming environments, which promote friendship, self-esteem, and self growth
  • a focus on advancing confidence and skills as a performer

Charlotte's Web

Professional & Young Company Co-Production

Join our Young Company and Professional Company as we travel from farm to fair with some terrific pig!

Wilbur the pig doesn’t appear to have a very bright future when Fern saves him. Surrounded by supportive barnyard friends on Zuckerman’s Farm — and befriended by a very gifted spider — Wilbur becomes “Some Terrific, Radiant Pig!” Revisit the timeless magic of a story that’s touched the hearts of generations of families with its universal themes of friendship and selflessness.

This Young Company production is a unique opportunity for our student actors to work alongside our professional actors to rehearse and perform in our fall main stage performance. Please note this production will have performances on Friday, October 11th. Any student actor cast in this production must be able to be present for ALL performances.

For all audition and production details, please see the details section below.

Details

Audition Date & Time: August 27th from 6:00-8:00pm

Audition Sign-up: COMPLETE AUDITION FORM HERE

Audition Details: This production will have a more competitive audition process than our regular Young Company Productions. While all student actors are welcome to audition, only 8-10 will be cast. Student actors wishing to audition need to submit a Charlotte’s Web Young Company Audition Form linked above. If a student actor is cast, Oklahoma Children’s Theatre will officially enroll them into this production and the tuition of $350* will be due by September 3rd.

*Oklahoma Children’s Theatre has financial assistance available, please fill out our financial assistance form HERE.

For the audition, student actors will need to:

  1. Upload or Bring a headshot – a photo that primarily focuses on the actor’s face. School photos and selfies are acceptable. If a student actor has a resume, they are welcome to bring it, but it is not required.
  2. Student actors will need to select one of our approved monologues to memorize and perform for the directors during their audition. These monologues will be emailed once the student actor’s audition form has been received.
  3. After performing their memorized piece, student actors will be asked to read portions of the script in small groups. While there isn’t a way to prepare for this portion in advance, we want our student actors to know what to expect.

The entire audition process is expected to take the full 2 hours.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Not all students who audition for this production will be cast. We understand that this can be a challenging experience for young actors. We kindly request that families take some time to discuss this possibility prior to attending our in person auditions.
